The OMI/Excelsior Beacon Center is a community center housed within James Denman Middle School dedicated to improving the lives of youth and families living, working, or attending schools in Oceanview, Merced, Ingleside, and Excelsior neighborhoods. Our programs and services include: after school enrichment, academic support, arts and recreation, technology training, leadership development, literacy support, career development, wellness counseling, case management services, and parent/family programming.

Our Adult and Community Programs provide special events, parent workshops, recreational and enrichment classes for adults and parents living or working in the community. Our Beacon Community Council meets on the 1st Mondays of every month at 4PM during the school year. We also serve as a local resource and facility for other community groups to extend services to the neighborhood. Please contact our beacon center for more information.
